October and November 2021 in Tofuku-ji Temple, Kyoto

October 2021, it was still warm and there was almost nobody when we came to visit.

November 2021, fall is the period when trees have a lot of colors and there was really a lot of people to see and visit this temple which is well known for having a lot of maple trees. Japanese people love nature and do not miss to come out during Sakura (spring) and Momiji (autumn).

Tofuku-ji is a famous Zen temple, established in the Kamakura period by Kujo Michie. This temple has maintained its Zen architecture since the Middle Ages, and as the main Rinzai sect temple, can boast a magnificent Doto Graran complex, the only one of its kind in Kyoto.
