A Walk Around Shirakoma Lake

Shirakoma Lake

With friends, living in the area, one day we went for a forest walk in Quasi National Park and around the Shirakoma Lake. It is located in the east area in Nagano prefecture and is well known as a healing spot, a lot of moss grow on the ground and on the lower part of trees.
The day was beautiful and we took the easy way around. There was another walk to go up the mountain but we did not feel like climbing for one hour just to see the view.
The walk around the lake was enough unto itself. Planks of wood are put on the track so that nobody slips on the wet stones covered by moss. Some planks were a bit shaky but most of the time they are still strong and they are also replaced regularly if they are too old or used up.
